Unravelling
She begins to loosen,
Thread by thread,
Letting the tension fall away.
What once held her tightly
Starts to slip,
To soften,
To release.
There is no force here —
Only a quiet undoing,
A necessary unravelling
So something truer can emerge.
In the gentle collapse of old bindings,
She finds space to breathe again,
To move,
To become.
“Unravelling” is an expressive mixed media work on raw linen that explores the moment of release that precedes rediscovery. Layers of gestural marks and translucent colour suggest movement between control and surrender, as the self gently loosens from past constraints. Both soft and assertive, the composition captures the positive transformation that occurs when we allow what no longer serves us to fall away, making room for clarity, freedom, and a renewed sense of identity within the Wild and Free collection.
Sized 90 × 60cm currently unframed
✨ Purchase with Confidence
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind original, lovingly created using premium materials and signed on the reverse — a true expression of colour, energy, and individuality. Every artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity, so you can collect with confidence.
Delivery is included within England, with additional costs for Wales, Scotland, and international destinations. (Please see delivery notes or get in touch for a personal quote.)
I know that choosing art is as much about feeling as it is about seeing, so I offer a ‘try before you buy’ service:
If you’re within 20 miles of the gallery, I’ll personally deliver the painting for you to live with for up to a week before deciding if it’s the right piece for you.
If you’re further away, simply send me a photo of your space and I’ll create a digital mock-up so you can see how it might look on your wall.
Each painting can also be tray framed to your preference — please contact me to explore framing options.
I’m always happy to discuss any artwork by email or phone during office hours (Monday–Friday). You’re also warmly invited to arrange a private studio visit in Braunton — a relaxed, no-pressure opportunity to view available pieces in person.
I want every collector to feel completely at ease. If for any reason the artwork isn’t quite right, you may return it within 14 days (return courier costs apply).
