The Ramblings of an Artist

I’ve been giving some thought recently to why people buy original art.

Because while most of us love having something beautiful on our walls, not everyone sees buying original work as a priority (and honestly, that’s fair — it isn’t, at least not in a practical sense).

But there are definitely those who do understand the quiet magic of choosing an original piece over mass-produced prints.

And I’ve been thinking about what they “get” that others maybe don’t. I’m convinced it’s not just about having the means to buy original art.

It’s about the joy it brings — a joy that, once felt, keeps drawing you back in.

So here, in no particular order, are my musings.

Ramblings from my head, churned and spilled onto a page — just some thoughts.

In a Disposable World, Art Is the Quiet Rebel

We live in a world where everything is built to be replaced. Gone are the days of “make do and mend.” We’re all about stack it high, sell it cheap. Buy, discard, repeat.

We’re conditioned to move fast, to accumulate more, to see every purchase as temporary. Nothing is designed to last anymore. and so in a world that urges us to speed up, art whispers back: “slow down,” it anchors us.

… Choose meaning. …Choose connection. …Choose something that lasts.

And so art is the gentle rebellion against all of this, it refuses to participate in disposability. It evolves. It’s born not just from the moment it’s created but from years of practice, hours of failed pieces and quiet triumphs that led to this point.

And in return, it asks you to take your time choosing it.

Art isn’t only for the wealthy or for vast gallery walls. Original fine art — created by a living artist — has never been more accessible. Buying a one-of-a-kind piece isn’t simply a house purchase. It’s a gift to yourself.

A companion chosen with your heart that will remain with you through life’s twists and turns.

Bringing original art into your home is an invitation to slow down, to be intentional. To pause in a world constantly urging you to move faster. It’s there for the quiet moments… waiting. That moment at the end of a long day — shoes kicked off, warm drink cupped in your hands, the air finally still. Your eyes drift across the room and soften as they land on the painting you chose with your heart. And in that instant, everything softens….. …Your shoulders.…Your day.…Your breath.…You exhale, and you know — deeply — you’re home.

Art speaks directly to the places within us that don’t have vocabulary.

It anchors, calms, surprises. It waits patiently all day for the moment your eyes meet again.

And suddenly it becomes clear that the painting you chose wasn’t random at all. It’s a mirror — not of how you look, but of the soul within. A glimpse of a part of yourself you sometimes lose in the noise of the world.

Hung in our homes, the art we choose reflects who we are. It speaks without words to those who enter before we even say hello. It builds identity, shapes atmosphere, and quietly supports us in a digital age overflowing with noise.

My own works are deeply rooted in the power of the feminine — intuition, wildness, softness, strength. A wordless language that reminds and reconnects women with the parts of themselves long forgotten.

And this connection doesn’t fade; it deepens over time. With each glance — a reminder. Because you don’t just ‘own’ art. You cohabitate with it.

You build memories around it until it becomes woven into the tapestry of your life, accompanying you through seasons and chapters. It becomes part of the family — cherished, familiar, meaningful. Moved from room to room, home to home. Something that may one day be passed down, carrying with it every version of you it has witnessed.

Because with art, you’re not just living alongside an object.

You don’t just live with it — you are its temporary custodian. It’s guardian for the next generation. Sipping from its cup of joy across the years

….as I said; ramblings.
